Building things online since I was 12 — now I run web design companies, ship software, and I'm still not done tinkering.

I was born in upstate New York and split time between New York and Texas until I was 8, when my family settled in Norwich, NY. I lived there until 13, then in New Berlin, NY until I left for college at 18.
Around age 12, I built and sold tools for a video game I played, which meant learning to build a website and process online payments — my first exposure to web development. After leaving college, I moved back to Norwich and ran a computer repair business, including refurbishing and reselling used computers, while doing web development consulting on the side. Web development eventually became the focus of the business.
Made web development the official, full-time focus of the business.
Formalized the business structure as the company grew.
Founded Vestavia Web Design to serve the Birmingham area, using the same approach as Chenango Web Design.
Two agencies, one philosophy: build small businesses real websites at a price that makes sense.
“I just want to make a decent living doing work I'm good at, and take care of the people who hire me.”

My original company. Web design, SEO, Google Business optimization, and digital strategy for small businesses across upstate New York — 16 years and 250+ projects in.

Uptime, SSL, and screenshot monitoring for websites that can't afford to go down quietly. Know the moment something breaks, before your customers do.
Visit Site →A custom-coded content management system out of Chenango Web Design, built specifically for town and village offices — so updating meeting minutes, agendas, and notices takes less training than any CMS I've used before. ADA-conscious and mobile-friendly from the ground up.
I offer free 1-on-1 mentorship for anyone starting a web development or digital marketing agency — no strings attached.
I've made just about every mistake there is to make building a web design business from nothing — pricing, sales, scope, systems, all of it. If you're trying to start your own agency and could use someone who's actually been through it, reach out. No cost, no catch — I just like helping people win.
Not the whole story — just a couple of things I enjoy outside of client work.
I used to spend a lot of time wrenching on fourwheelers — these days it's mostly motorcycles, with the occasional car project mixed in. There's something satisfying about work where the only feedback you get is whether it starts.
Hiking, exploring new trails, and chasing a good scenic view — from the Smokies to the Adirondacks to wherever the road happens to go.
Not mine — just people and places on the web worth a look.
More to come as I find them.
